Welcome to BritPen

All pens are handcrafted by Bill Brittain from significant, historic and exotic woods. Some examples of the historic woods we have available wood from The Hermitage - the home of Andrew Jackson, and wood from Union Station in Nashville - built in 1900. We also have some wood from Historic Rugby in Tennessee.

Besides crafting pens from this historic wood, we can craft a pen for you from significant wood - wood that holds some value or significance to you. A baseball bat you had as a child, a broken table leg from your great-grandfathers dinning table, etc.You pick out a style of pen and designate what wood you would like it crafted from we will hand craft a distinctive pen with your selected wood and ship it out right away. Keep in mind, the wood you submit must be 5/8th square and no less than six inches long. For questions, please Contact Us.

If instead you are simply looking for beautiful handturned pens, we also have exotic woods available such as cocobola, tiger wood, ebony and mahogony.

Each pen comes neatly packaged with a certificate of authencity.

Featured Wood: Union Station Douglas Fir

Union Station was built by the L&N Railroad and was opened in 1900 with a fanfare celebration. In 1986 the old train terminal which was abandoned for many years was renovated and reopened as a hotel. We obtained some of the wood from the floor joists of the original building which was Douglas Fir, and later we obtained wood from the Train Shed which was an architectural marvel. It was demolished to make room for a parking lot. Order your pen made with this wood and we'll craft a bit of history you can carry in your pocket.
